No, this is going to be a constant thing, unfortunately.  I will probably
spend a lot of time rending on one box and then moving to another box for
various different reasons, and then rendering other stuff on yet another
box.

I do have a crossover cable that I am going to be taking back to the office,
in the event that I have just a massive transfer that I want to do.  It is
my understanding that a crossover cable will be faster than a switch.  But I
currently have only one ethernet port in each machine, and I would like to
be able to go on line with these machines while I am copying (but not
rendering.  Rendering consumes too many resources).
