However, i dont see it as open standard when microsoft
made it and bribed every nation (and managed to get
banned from the swedeish marketplace while doing it)
to vote for it. At least those are the stories i
heard.

The ISO frequently approves competing standards, or
standards which contain 2 competing elements.
The best thing about standards is that there are so
many to choose among!
