[svlug] What went wrong? was: Re: Installfest?

Lets give John Reagan his due credit.  His efforts to rivatlize LUG
activities in the Berkeley area are commendable.  On the other hand it
seems like there were a couple issues for everyone to learn from.  No big
deal, but lets try to apply these learnings in the future.  

In regards to the use of SVLUG lists to promote BUUG events, in the
future, I would request the following:

1)Please try to make it more clear which group is organizing the event...
ie, that it isn't and SVLUG event.  It was mentioned in the "meeting is
being coordinated through the Berkeley Unix User Group buug.org mailing
list," but in the future, it would ideally be done more prominently.

2)Please only announce events on SVLUG lists that have a confirmed date,
time and location

Lastly, this may also be a good departure point to direct future
discussion of this issue off-list or to BUUG or SVLUG volunteers lists for
related planning and/or policy discussions that aren't generally
interesting to the this list's membership.
