I'm glad for the few who got... something, but an order of magnitude
less than promised.  I'm sorry for the unknown number of others who 
were disappointed, in one case after spending a large amount of money on
gas to drive up from Hollister, to find no event and no explanation.
And who may be difficult to convince that the next Berkeley Linux event
-- put on by anyone at all -- isn't yet another mirage.  And all because
the erstwhile organiser couldn't bother to plan, and promised what he
had absolutely no hope -- or intention, really -- of delivering.

I'm sorry _for_ those people.  Being sorry _to_ them should be John's job.
