Quoting Tony Hartzell (hartzellt at charter.net):

On the BUUG mailing list (Berkeley), poster Keith Goodman _likewise_
reported arriving at Evans Halls (12 to 12:40 pm) and found no gathering
and no clues.
The "we'll meet in Evans Hall if we're actually allowed to, and if not
there we'll try to leave a note saying where we're going" plan was an
accident waiting to happen for many reasons, including extreme
likelihood that any note you _do_ tape up will get removed and thrown
away within about five minutes.
Yesterday, I warned (um..) organiser John Regan that the above part of
the plan, in particular, was an extremely bad idea, but he went ahead
anyway. I notice he didn't include a contact cellular number for
aspiring attendees to find out where the group when when (inevitably)
they were told "No, you may not occupy a room in Evans Hall. Too bad,
eh?
At 2:19 pm on the BUUG list, poster Glen Jarvis reported that the group
of nine people who _did_ connect with each other ended up at the "Free
Speech Cafe". (Glen didn't say where that is: It's outdoor seating
just outside the main entrance to Moffitt Undergraduate Library.) He
reported that the gathering ended up "just chatting".
