Hi John:

Ubuntu is very easy to install and we've taken steps to simplify it even
further.  Most installs will require little or no direct experience with
GNU/Linux.  However, we will inevitably have our share of error messages
and so we'll need gurus in the house as well.  There is no formal age
minimum and mature, responsible and well behaved children are welcome at
the event.  However, the point of the event is to donate as many computers
to schools as possible and we need to stay focused on that goal, so it is
important that the events do not become childcare facilities.
