[svlug] mounting sd card

On my fedora box, if I plug an SD card into the reader, or plug in the
usb sd card reader, magic happens and the card is visible as a drive. 

On my kubuntu laptop I need to run the command

sudo modprobe -r ehci-hcd

and then the magic will happen.

I tried adding 
ehci-hcd to /etc/modules but that didn't work.

Could someone point me to the incantation to get the magic to always
happen?
