If you want a reliable Linux FS, I'd say not much beats good ol' ext3. 
Performance may not be the best, of course, but it's Good Enough For 
Me[tm].  Unless there's a specific reason you need reiserfs, XFS, JFS, 
etc., reducing opportunities for data loss would be my #1 priority.
