[svlug] Any recommendations for a USB-serial dongle which will work on Ubuntu?

Ahh, information not available in your first post. That might have saved us both
some time. It appears < I may be wrong due to lack of information> that you are
trying to get older software to run on newer hardware that no longer supports the
older software due to some manufacturer's idea of progress.

Why would you buy hardware that did not support the programs you want to run?

That I don't know. You asked for any other recommendations. I gave you what I
know about. Sorry it wasn't what you were looking for.
