[svlug] Linux speech -> text

Hello,

Is there any software out there (free or commercial) that converts 
speech to text?  Ideally, I would like to be able to write documents by 
speaking into a microphone.  The software should then behave like a 
keyboard and type the text into the window that has focus.

I understand that the software would need to learn my pronunciation and 
that it will still make mistakes.

All I find if I do a web search is software that has been discontinued. 
  Any pointers would be appreciated.
