OK, found the place to get kubuntu 7.10, at least. I futzed for a bit
trying jigdo, but didn't want to wait too long to get the template
file, so I got the torrent files from the same web page (which didn't
have ISO editions of kubuntu, otherwise I would simply have downloaded
them directly).

The other mirror ftp site was so slow as to be unusable, so grabbed
torrents and started up ktorrent, which ATM is going at a very nice
clip for both alternate & desktop kubuntus.

I should have a decent enough set of CDs to bring to installfest!
