[svlug] semi-offtopic: CCD telescope and Linux

For somewhere between $100 and $200, one can purchase a decent telescope 
at Fry's. But, while considering the purchase, I realized I want more. 
:-) I want something with a CCD (or some other kind of video chip or 
camera, I'm not sure what's the current technology) that I can use with 
Linux.
I figured some of the smart folks on this list might be already familiar 
with this kind of toys, so therefore I'm posting this request for advice.

Here are the requirements:
1. Cheap. Biggest bang for the buck.
2. Modular. If possible, I'd like to purchase the telescope first, and 
the CCD later.
3. Linux compatible. Duh.

Any suggestions? Is it doable at all?
