I've only used the base and lamp versions, but I expect "desktop" is what it
claims ;-) The 492M base is pretty basic, "just add a service" server
package, lamp adds apache/tomcat/mysql/php and other usual suspects for a
web server box plus enough X to be able to run gooey programs remotely.
