[svlug] Request for Slashdot firehose vote

hi,

For those of you who have /. accounts, I have submitted a story to /. about
how it is possible to get Microsoft to fund the purchase of FOSS boxes for
California schools.  We have a sort of test case here in San Francisco,
where we spent a lot of time figuring out the details of the California
Microsoft Anti-trust settlement.  Now that we have been reimbursed, I would
like to share our knowledge on how to navigate the bureaucratic maze with
other California sys admins who might read Slashdot.

Also, since I wrote both the underlying article *and* the firehose summary,
there is a decent chance that this submission will be dinged for sheer
cheesiness.  So if someone would like to rewrite and submit, please feel
free.
