[svlug] cheap linux printer

In any case, it's a great, inexpensive, B&W laser printer.  I bought
it a couple years ago specifically to work  with Linux.  I do
occasional printing with it and I'm still on its original toner
cartridge.  Works beautifully with Linux and Mac.

I got the ip1700 from fry's working using the ip2200 driver on PCLinuxOS and would let you have it for $20. No idea if the printer stays cheap after replacing cartridgfes.  This route is ecodisaster but cheap up front and this color printer seems to work nice, suppossedly needs two lines edited in some file from the 2200 but works ok for me as is. I don't know if these are still on sale for even less.
