So, Bill, is that Spam munging in your addy? Well, just in case, I'm
sending it both ways. I don't approve of spam munging, but life is too
short to get worked up over it.

There is more than one definition of Spam. At Coalition Against UCE
(www.cauce.org) we define it as UCE rather than UBE, because we don't
care how many copies other people got. One UCE is Spam. Under our
proposal for outlawing Spam, Bulk just means more people can sue in
state court for $500 per message.
LUG mailing lists are for discussions of Free Software. Lara's post is
on topic and non-commercial. I rest my case.
If you would like to have a LUG meeting on the issue of Spam, speak
up. I'll be glad to make a presentation on the prospects of dumping
the CAN-SPAM Act and getting a genuine anti-spam law through a
Democratically-controlled Congress, and you can have your say in
whatever form you and the group agree on.

That's just rude. You are presuming to dictate policy on a list
organized by others, and to object to a duly-elected officer of the
group. If you don't like the way we do things, I know of no
alternative for you but to take your marbles and go home. If you have
a better idea, you can talk to me about it offline, and others will be
free to join in our conversation if they like.

Hear, hear. Thanks, Paul.
