You are a member, a participant, of the open source community.  And while I 
cannot presume to understand the cause for your attitude, I do know that in 
order for the OSS community to continue blooming we *MUST* accept all people; 
even those looking for help to graduate college.  I hate to be blunt, but isn't 
the point of the open source community/movement to help others and foster 
innovation?  I see taking this simple survey as achieving both goals.
