Just for the record, in case someone will be looking for the same
information.
I bought the c250. Tagging the WMA files does not seem to be doable on
Linux (maybe with some kind of Windows program under Wine, but I'm not
going to try that). Generating the special playlist files for the Sansa
is a pain in the butt, plus they don't contain much information.
As long as you use properly tagged MP3 files, it works 100% fine. Which
is perfect for me, since most of my audio files are MP3 and almost all
of them are properly tagged.
If you go to the USB section of the settings and set the device to the
MSC mode, then it works just like a USB memory stick. No problems on Linux.
I like it. Cheaper than the iPod and has much better functionality.
Looks like my kids will receive a pre-owned iPod pretty soon. :-D
