Hey Clyde & all,
The two most user friendly distros I have used are
Xandros and Xubuntu.
We just put Xu on all the workstations here and we
all LOVE IT!
It is a great desktop for ease of use, and the Ub
repositories have tons of stuff, as all the
reviews say.
Don't know about the specific software needs you
mentioned, as we are a PHP/MySQL development shop
and don't get into business stuff much, but I
would think Ub would be your best bet.
Xandros was more Windowsy, busier desktop, but I
don't really see any advantages it has over any of
the Ubuntu flavors.
I think the Xu version of Ubuntu is probably no
less user friendly for a business person than a
KDE or other desktop environment.
I just installed my HP-1022 printer in literally
20 seconds, three mouse clicks, and was printing,
and that's was a sweet experience compared to what
I went through with a bare bones Debian/Fluxbox
install.
So my vote is for Xubuntu.
but just my opinion.
