I don't know what that link is going on about; I regularly use OpenOffice
to read and write documents on NFS-mounted drives, and did so earlier
today.

I have only seen these complaints from Debian users; Sun, after all, is
the home of NFS.  Do you seriously think that they wouldn't ship a product
that doesn't work over NFS?

It seems to me that if there's a bug, it's Debian-specific.
