Neither of which is a reasonable suggestion to have to foist on Linux
beginners, which I believe was what the original poster's question was
about.

My standard for beginners is: unless there's a GUI to do it, it fails
the "beginner-friendly" test.  YMMV.

Though the original poster did mention he'd set up a RH6 box as a web
server before, so he might not be as much of a newbie as the subject
claims ^_^.
