[svlug] rss aggregator & filter?

Hi - 

1)What are the top rss aggregator applications in linux?  

I'm very interested in a filtering feature, that lets me remove items
based on match criteria.

I've used Akregator, but it lacks the filtering.

Suggestions?

2) Any programmers here know how hard it might be to add filtering to
Akregator?  

I've used gtk-gnutella, & it has good filtering ability.  Is there
nicely modular filtering sw that can be reused into an ap like
akregator?
