The treo version of pssh solves one major ultraportable need my treo
wasn't fulfilling. However, I've been intrigued by something more
capable as a computer than the treo, but more portable than my
laptop.
There are three linux boxes in the size/price range that intrigue me:
olpc xo
asus eee pc
Nokia N810
The OLPC has a lot going for it, but it is not meant for grownups to
use it, right out of the box. The display is mighty tempting though.
I haven't seen either the asus or the nokia in person yet. Does anyone
know of anyplace locally that has them to see what they are really
like?
Has anyone had a chance to play with these? I know Paul has an OLPC,
and I've even spent a few minutes playing with it. How about comparing
the other two? The GPS feature of the N810 seems to be the killer
app. It seems that I could almost rationalize getting it as a GPS unit
with ssh and web browsing.
