[svlug] help moving the Linux lab

hi

We will be moving the Linux lab this weekend from its temporary storage home
to its new home this Saturday. Unfortunately, I don't have exact times for
the move, as the principal was out sick today. But this would be a great
opportunity to help this school provide basic computing skills to some truly
deserving, hard-working, yet under-privileged kids. The standardized test
scores were recently released for last year's testing, and this public
middle school ended up ranking very high, probably first or second, despite
the fact that 1) the school deliberately recruits from underperforming kids;
and 2) 75% of the kids come from households below federal poverty
guidelines.

We recently received 30 chubby terminals from the Alameda County Computer
Resource Center, which will help speed up our lab's performance, thus nicely
displaying the power and stability of FOSS.

I am estimating that we will be working between 10:30 am and 5 pm. As most
of you know, the school is located at 1430 Scott Street, on the southeastern
corner of Geary and Scott.

Thanks either way for considering this request!
