Just for the sake of argument, if the current shift of "doers" were,
say, COBOL or LISP programmers, and decided to recreate the website
entirely in COBOL or LISP, would that be a wise decision? It sure
wouldn't amount to a guarantee of years of support.
Personally, I have nothing against using MoinMoin. It sounds like a
good choice. Also, I'm glad that the website is being reworked to make
it easier to update. But the "do-ocracy" thing seems to be a little bit
to convenient an excuse to not ask for a consensus. And it feels
restrictive, rather than inviting.

Yes, too few and many are the same year in and year out. The
restrictive nature of providing access to the server should be
alleviated a bit with something like MoinMoin (content providers can be
granted adequate access via web based ACLs). But many current
"slackers" who may want to contribute may be pushed away just by the
notion of a "doers" clique.
Me, I'll be hanging with the burnouts.
