I moved to a new place and I installed my Linux workstation in a room
pretty far from where the rest of the equipment is. Sure I could run a
cable, but I guess I'm at the point where cables are just annoyances.
So can you recommend a wireless PCI card, in the G band, that you used
on a recent Linux system and worked well?
Fancy encryption is not an issue, I'll just run everything through
OpenVPN over unencrypted wireless. The wireless net is terminated at a
firewall that only allows OpenVPN to my server.
It would help if the card is a make/model that I can find nowadays at a
local store, such as Fry's, etc., but I'm fine with on-line purchases too.
Cheap is good. I'm looking for the Honda or Toyota of WiFi PCI cards. :-)
Thanks,
