So your alternative to lossless file editing is lossy file editing?  How
could that possibly get a better result?  A poorly-positioned frame
boundary, if it exists, has already caused distortion in the original
file.  Moving it will just make things worse.  If the sync mechanism
doesn't work for you every time, you need new software.
