Really? You are aware, aren't you, that the MP3 file format consist of
sequences of independent frames? You most certainly can chop an MP3 file
at frame boundaries without introducing any loss. So why are you so
confident that there will be unacceptable results? There is even a sync
mechanism so that a decoder can recover the frame boundary if the file
is chopped at an arbitrary byte boundary.
