Why not make a script to convert HTML messages to plaintext for
storage?  You know, the basic <b><div style="font: bold"> ---> _
stuff.  It wouldn't be terribly hard...

Over My Dead Mail Client (which could be arranged, though I'd
personally be sad to see it go - I like gmail).
