I wouldn't hire anyone who assumed I could open a word doc, specially
since people who would apply would probably know something about me
and my business.

I did, though, buy crossover office and plugin (wine) at LWCE so that
I could read word docs (amongst other things).  This is because I
won't turn away a customer because they send me a spec in word format.
I must say that it works great.
