[svlug] How to mount a USB mass storage device?

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to access a USB mass storage device.  The device is a 
Vivitar Vivicam 3550 camera.

I am afraid I have not found any reference anywhere to accessing data 
from this specific device but I am thinking that I may just be able to 
treat it as a generic CompactFlash device and mount is as a SCSI hard 
disk.  I have sorta been pointed in that direction from 
http://www.linux-usb.org/.  It looks like other people have had some 
successes doing things that way.

Any input to help point me in ANY direction?  As always I value any 
positive or even negative responses.
