[svlug] Wheel Mouse Optical... Evil?

I wanted to try an optical mouse and a scroller. I was going to go for the 
Logitec whatever model.
However, I found a Genius Netscroll which was about a 3rd of the price of 
those made by Logitec or M*cr*s*ft.  I like it.
It is USB and comes with a PS/2 thingie which I'm using.
Oh, I live in Thailand so don't know how prices compare to "over there"
