Job description: 

Tropos Networks seeks a senior platform SW engineer to join its innovative team building next generation metropolitan wireless solutions. Our platforms are highly resilient, outdoor wireless routers.  

 

Drive major design decisions relating to platform architecture, functionality and serviceability. 

Define key requirements, architect and implement solutions.
Investigate new technologies.
Work closely with product management, system test and customer service.
Mentor junior developers.

 

Requirements:


Ph.D/MS in EE, 

10+ years experience with platform/control plane software for network devices.

Must be obsessively focused on platform reliability and serviceability.

Must be passionate about self-managing and self-diagnosing products. 

Track record designing and delivering systems that are robust and resilient.

Significant experience with system profiling and automated testing.

Experience with wireless standards and networks preferred.

Excellent operating system fundamentals and debugging skills.

Proficiency with Linux kernels and network drivers.

Strong customer focus, emphasis on usability.

Excellent OO development skills, strong C coding skills, design for testability.
Familiarity with modern agile development methodologies and practices.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
A high degree of self-motivation and flexibility.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability and willingness to proactively interact and achieve exceptional results in a dynamic small company environment
