Support Ticket 15457567 account 'SVLUG' has been updated by Linode:
--------------------------------------------------
Hello,
Over the next few months, we will be working to retire all hosts within our data centers that have reached the end of their life cycles. As a result, we will need to migrate your Linode(s) to newer hardware, which will give you both better performance, and the ability to utilize newer products such as [Cloud Firewall](https://www.linode.com/products/cloud-firewall/).
At the bottom of this ticket, you will find a list of currently affected Linodes and their respective migration deadlines.
A few important things to know:
- Our recommendation is to take your migration earlier than the scheduled time (if convenient), using the “click here” link located in the banner at the top of your Linode's Summary tab. **This banner will appear automatically as we schedule migrations over the next several hours.**
- If you decide not to migrate your Linode early, it will not migrate immediately at its scheduled time. Instead, it is placed in a queue and will migrate once its position in the queue is reached (_which may take several hours_).
- All IP addresses will remain the same.
This is a multi-phase retirement, so it is possible you may receive additional notices from us for any Linode(s) on older hardware in other data centers. We recognize that any downtime can be frustrating, so we appreciate your understanding and will continue to do our best to minimize the overall impact of this event. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
This ticket will automatically close once the maintenance window is complete and there is no need to respond to this ticket.
_Additional information regarding your migration_:
- Your Linode will be cleanly shut down, migrated to a new host, and then returned to its last state (**booted or powered off**).
- Once the migration begins, your Linode's disks will be moved to the new host at a rate of about 3-5GB per minute.
- You can monitor the progress of your Linode's migration from the Summary tab within the Dashboard.
- We highly recommend you review our [Reboot Survival Guide](https://www.linode.com/docs/uptime/best-practices/reboot-survival-guide/) for pre-migration best practices.
- The maintenance schedule is also available via the “Download CSV” link in the [Linodes](https://cloud.linode.com/linodes) section of the Cloud Manager.
