Hullo, Robin. Last month, in my capacity as one of SVLUG's webmasters
and mailing list administrators, I forwarded your Nov. 18th invitation
to the SVLUG main discussion mailing list. So, it was seen by all SVLUG
members at that time.
If you wish to discuss the matter further with the members, you can do
so on that mailing list (SVLUG's main discussion forum).
Sometimes I end up discussing these matterw with people unfamiliar with
mailing lists, so: A mailing list is a group discussion forum routed
over e-mail and mediated by a central piece of softwrae (the mailing
list manager = MLM) that accepts e-mailed 'postings' to the mailing list
and remails each such 'posting' out to all the subscribers. Typically,
all past postings are also recorded in a searchable Web archive.
For antispam reasons, in 2015, one must 'join' (subscribe to) a mailing
list before one is allowed to post to it. Whenever one is tired of
receiving postings, one unjoins / unsubscribes.
The main discussion mailing list and the means of joining / unjoining
(and public access to the back-postings archive) is here:
http://lists.svlug.org/lists/listinfo/svlug
The above background is to help get you started. The webmasters are
delighted to give members of the public assistance up to a point, e.g.,
we happily forwarded your initial query to the membership. However,
there are limits to our availability for ongoing help. If you wish to
'speak to somone from SVLUG to explain the study', I'm sure that would
be welcome, but self-service is the general rule, e.g., you would need
to join the mailing list, post to it, participate to the extent you wish
to, unjoin when you are done and wish to no longer be on the mailing
list, and so on. The webmasters have limited availabiluty for
handholding. (Speaking for myself, I'm actually in the Caribbean on
vacation, and may not be reading e-mail much at all.)
