Heather, I can't believe you fell for that. This is two cent spam for
link exchange and boosting their google ranking.

Well, that's exactly what they're after. It's quite obvious from the
spam.
It is however intelligently crafted spam probably based on their own
spidering or queries on google (linkback, related sites)
 
Dear "benstegman.com" (sic). I will be happy to submit your site for
review by google as a link spammer who is trying to artificially boost
their rankings.
If it turns out that I'm right (no net access as I write this), they
will probably demote your site's ranking.
