It's also somewhat inevitable that the same will eventually happen with lists.svlug.org.

It used to be the case that self-hosting was the only realistic option. That is no longer the case.

Given nobody really seems to have the time and interest to maintain infrastructure, I think it's fair to consider just throwing in the towel and 
relying on a hosted service like meetup for if and when we want to do actual events again.
