We've never had a problem with this in the past, so I'm pretty sure
we're fine. That is, back when there were sponsors of individual
meetings, the sponsors would sometimes pay for pizza and soda, which
didn't raise any eyebrows.
The obvious applies: Messes such as spillages would be bad, in the
sense that the Symantec janitorial staff might then complain to
management, and the sh*t flows downhill principle would then apply.
Most months, I stay behind to pick up and discard things people leave
behind at/under their chairs, and so on, on a theory that it couldn't
hurt for the janitors to _like_ us, but this is more than strictly
required.
_Not_ that this is going to be a problem, but just for completeness:
Making sure the janitors are happy is also why I shoo people gently out
if they're lingering past 9pm -- because another way we could piss off
the janitors would be if they couldn't start work because three or four
SVLUG members lacked hte common sense to take their post-meeting gabfest
outdoors.
