Domain svlug.net expired on Dec. 28, 2014.  (SVLUG has kept ownership of
that secondary domain for a long time, but hasn't ever put any content
on it uniquely.  The DNS merely points to the regular content normally 
accessed via svlug.org.)

Note:  SVLUG did not receive any pending expiration notices about this
domain from registrar Joker.com .  (It is possible that the notices
arrived and are in the archive of this mailing list during the period of
my server's downtime from Aug. 27, 2014 until just recently.  If that is
the case, let it be a lesson to any remaining active volunteers to not
just punt everything to me, especially when you know my Internet access
is down for an extended period.)

Note#2:  That should also serve as a reminder that you should never,
ever rely totally on registrar renewal notices.  (I don't for my own
domains.)

As the domain is just past 30 days after expiration. the Joker.com
'grace period' for renewal at no more than the regular renewals cost no
longer is available.  The domain is in what Joker.com calls the
'Redemption Grace Period', in which considerable manual work is required
to resurrect the domain, and they charge about US $125 as an additional
fee for that work.

I am extremely disinclined to pay that money for that domain.  The
default course of action is, of course, eventually deletion of the
domain's registration and lapse into the public pool, available for
registration by the first comer, at 75 days after expiration.  By my
calendar calculations, that will happen around Friday, March 13, 2015.
