Heh.  AB (Anand Babu) Periasamy is a longtime friend and former
co-worker of mine, whom I worked with at California Digital Corporation.
(It's thanks to him that I know at least a few words of Tamil.)

Either of those topics is a bit specialised in its appeal for SVLUG.
OTOH, it might bring in people who don't normally attend.

I'd make a point of attending just because it's my friend AB.
