[volunteers] looking for a volunteer or two

Is there an appropriate way to solicit for a volunteer or two?
There is no money to pay for a job - so a job posting doesn't seem quite right.
My classroom at Westmont H.S. has a server and 36 workstations.
For several years I ran a Linux LAN with great success - the people at
VALinux helped set me up in 2000.
Last year the district IT people shut it down and implemented a
citrix/windows system which has been very frustrating.
I am trying to rebuild a classroom LAN using Ubuntu, but I am not
quite savy enough to get it working reliably.
DHCP, NFS, and NIS are what I think I need - each has shown signs of
working but is currently not.
Students appear Monday.
