FYI:  We had roughly this same conversation a month ago.

Yes, that would be excellent:  We would greatly appreciate your help 
in getting the announcements out!  If you can get them out consistently
earlier, that will help all of us SVLUG members in our planning, and I
would certainly appreciate it.  (I'm of course an SVLUG member in pretty
much exactly the same way you are.  Everyone who pitches in makes things
better for all of us.  Lately, I've been picking up a lot of work
everyone else has walked away from, and it occurs to me that all of this
is your problem at least as much as it is mine.)

You will find the text to send out always on the Meetings page,
http://www.svlug.org/meetings.php.  I borrow the message format from
prior announcements, which you can find at
http://lists.svlug.org/lists/listinfo/svlug-announce .  New postings to
svlug-announce have to be approved by listadmins, which I believe is
currently just me and Mark Weisler for lack of other volunteers, but 
you're welcome to join the listadmin team if you wish.

Personally, I got back from a week in Pasadena very late Monday night.
All day Tuesday, I was extremely busy attempting to catch up on a
mountain of work that had accumulated during my absence.  I later got to
any and all non-work matters as soon as I reasonably could, under the
circumstances.  The reason I was up at midnight sending out an SVLUG
announcement is that nobody else in SVLUG bothered to do so.

Immediately after sending out the meeting announcement, I also
updated SVLUG's Web site, which none of the other SVLUG members had
bothered to do for a long time, either.  Then, around 12:30 AM, I was
able to quit for the day, and leave for home and start work on
accumulated personal business. 

So, if you or other SVLUG members would help share Web site mainteance,
that would help me and everyone else, making less work for all of us and
helping SVLUG prosper.  Thanks!
