I can think of much better places, such as Craigslist.  And even if not,
that's not SVLUG's problem.

You didn't do anything wrong in any formal, rule-oriented sense, but I
just wanted to have a word.  (I'm CCing the Volunteers list because we
keep all list-administrative activity public and on the record.)  

As you may know, SVLUG's mailing list has an international membership
who expect to see postings primarily about Linux and related topics.
I'm sure you're aware your post wasn't even remotely topical or of
broad public interest.  E.g., our subscribers in Montana didn't
subscribe to hear about your housing problem.

I and the other listadmins don't intervene to curb offtopic spew unless
and until it becomes a major problem (which thankfully has been rare).
But, if that starts happening again, I'm going to remember who started
it.
