[volunteers] Probably No Network at Symantec

Hi,
The last couple of times I've connected a WAP to the Symantec network in
the meeting room where we have our SVLUG meetings the connection has
worked for about ten minutes and then shutdown. I talked with the
security guard there on a few occasions and he told me Symantec does not
want visitors connecting to their network. He was especially vigilant
about connecting in the small, adjacent meeting room.

I'll keep trying and jacking in at meetings but I don't know that we can
count on an Internet connection for our meetings. This will have a
bearing on the nature of meetings as many of our speakers would like to
connect, or need to connect, as part of their talk.

It might be that the Symantec network lets visitors connect for a while
and then, if their credentials are not recognized drops them or drops
all traffic on that port for a while.

I'll let you know what I learn at the next meeting.
Mark
