[volunteers] System was near RAM exhaustion

Rick, Andrew and others,

If possible I would like to be involved in this effort (warning: never done
a similar project before). I want to try and see what ever way I can assist
with the project.

Please advice where to start - the only mail related task I have done before
is installing and configuring sendmail as part of RHCE training.
