Hi, Brandon! Yes, my firm's been using Zabbix for monitoring and
alerting, too. Small world.
I actually am glad you wrote in, because there are two venues I'd like
to propose to you, if you're up for it: One is SVLUG's Wednesday,
September 2nd general meeting, which will be in our regular location at
Symantec in Mountain View (350 Ellis Street near E. Middlefield, a few
blocks off US-101). Meetings are 7 - 9 pm.
I'm aware that September's quite a ways off, but, you'll see on
http://www.svlug.org/meetings.php that it's the first speaker slot we
have open. Would you like to do that? We generally have a set of 20-30
attendees, and Symantec's VCAFE is a pretty nice lecture venue. Web
farm / compute farm monitoring is, I should mention, on the technical
side for SVLUG's mixed audience of coders, sysadmins, network people,
and just plain end-users, but we do like to have some meetings that
are a change of pace for the "desktop" people.
The other venue is BayLISA, the local system administrator guild, which
(likewise) meets monthly, in their case nearby at Yahoo's classroom
building, at its main campus: 701 First Avenue @ N. Mathilda Ave. Bldg.
E, Classroom 9, Sunnyvale. (That's in Moffett Industrial Park, not far
from the Bay.) Meetings are 7:30 - 9:30 pm on 3rd Thursdays.

Not only would a Zabbix talk be absolutely perfect for BayLISA's
audience, but also I'm 99% sure that BayLISA still has an opening for
June. That'll thus be June 18th, a week from this Thursday. Would
you consider doing that?
If interested, please let me know, and I'll firm things up for you.
(In addition to being an SVLUG person, I'm on BayLISA's Board of
Directors.)
Either way, I look forward to seeing your talk. Thanks!

Cheers, Notice: The value of your Hofstadter's Constant

McQ! (4x80) been adjusted upwards.
