FYI. (This marketing firm is probably mailing list to all the technical
user groups in the Bay Area.) Note that Sun is essentially offering a
Java track ("JavaOne") and an everything-else track ("CommunityOne").
The upcoming conference where I think SVLUG presence would be most
useful is actually O'Reilly's OSCON, San Jose, mid-July. Details via
our front page.

Subject: Sponsoring the CommunityOne Conference
Hello,
I work on getting media sponsorships for the JavaOne and CommunityOne
conferences sponsored by Sun Microsystems. We are specifically looking for
organizations like yours to sponsor the CommunityOne conference on a trade
basis. CommunityOne will take place June 1-3 in San Francisco and will be
colocated with JavaOne. It will include over 70 talks and lectures on such
things as cloud platforms, RIAs and scripting, web platforms, free and
open-source software and more.
We are putting together a .org area of the show floor and would be
interested in speaking with you to see if there would be interest in
participating. This would be on a trade basis and we would be looking for
marketing exposure on your end in return. I have pasted below some ways
that we could provide exposure to your group. Of course you are not
required to have a presence at CommunityOne if you would simply like to
give us marketing exposure in return for some exposure on our end. We can
also tailor packages to fit your needs.
CommunityOne June 1-3 in San Francisco: CommunityOne West in San Francisco
will be collocated with JavaOne
Attendee target for San Francisco: 4000-6000
Core Audience: Open developer conference bringing together developers,
technologists, and students in a wide variety of topics such as cloud
computing and virtualization, dynamic languages and scripting, databases,
web and application servers, operating systems, mobile development, and
tools
Benefits:
Logo with link and 40-word company description on CommunityOne web site
Logo and link in an email
Logo on any other pre-conference marketing materials
Logo and 40-word description in on-site Conference Guide
Logo on on-site signage and video wall
On site publication distribution bins
Table in .org area of show floor
Please let me know if you are interested and we can set up a time to speak
in further detail. Here is the website if you would like more information:
