This is a valid point. There was a time where I lurked because I felt
rebuked by a sharp comment that Rick made very early on when I posted to one
of the lists that Rick is on. But I thought that if I just sat back and
became familiar with the people on the list, I would see if it was something
that I said that was off base, or if it was just Rick's style. After
lurking for a while, I came to see that Rick is sometimes curt with
everyone. No one is perfect. And yes, Rick's style might intimidate some
people, but unfortunately, this is not a perfect world. Hopefully, the
various personalities on this list can balance each other out.
I often don't know what I am talking about since I am still learning, and I
know that can irritate people, probably including Rick. And yet, I am such
a creampuff that I never intimidate anyone, and I am good at making newbies
feel welcome. So hopefully there is a balance if we can just learn to
accept each other a bit more.
