What's really weird is that I *LIKE* the guy, personally. I hope
sometime soon to again pop the cork of a good bottle of wine, and
share and enjoy it with him. What I don't like is how he treats
others on-list.

I think on-list and inter-volunteer courtesy is far too important to
just let Rick's style "slide", especially since it sets an
unfortunately low standard and example for others.

Similarly, others in SVLUG have made it clear that it was important to
them that they not let some things which I've done, that they've
disagreed with, "slide".

In the greater scheme of things, SVLUG's success will depend on its
ability to continually attract new interested parties. I'm unsure
whether appointments vs. elections would affect that... but I am sure
that fear of being publicly dressed down for incompetence will indeed
dissuade some otherwise capable and interested individuals from
participating in SVLUG.

Best,
