No, Rick is highly particular, and he is trying to get people to understand
a technically better way to admin a list.  Rick might occasionally be a bit
crusty, but he at least does take the time to bring us up to speed on the
reasons why he is doing stuff.  I sometimes wish that Rick were less curt,
but we should all try to take a bit of the good with the bad in each other.

I sometimes discuss things I don't really understand, and people put up with
it.  Paul Reiber is sometimes feisty and imperious in his tone, but he
obviously cares about SVLUG.  Each of us has our faults, and yet there is
deep competence on this list.  Rick's detailed posts are one example of that
deep knowledge.  There are other people here who can match his skills, but
Rick is really extraordinary in his time commitment to this group, so
wouldn't it be a good idea, Paul, to let your dislike for his personal style
slide off of your back?
